Terry Hancocks
Terry Hancocks is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers with over 35 years of experience in the Operations and maintenance of new and existing oil and gas fields. Most of his career has been with Shell, with shorter periods in ENI and as Managing Consultant with IHS.
Terry has gained a great breadth of knowledge with many IOC and NOC companies covering all Operations disciplines involved in hydrocarbon operations fields during his career. Building on his education in Mechanical Engineering he has worked in various Operations and Maintenance roles at all levels including the first Maintenance Director for Shell Groups worldwide training in The Hague.
International experience includes:
Angola; Brazil; Holland and Norway; Kazakhstan; Malaysia; New Zealand; Nigeria; Oman; Russia; Tunisia; United Kingdom; United Arab Emirates, USA (GoM); Venezuela
During his many overseas postings and assignments Terry’s experiences included:
Maintenance benchmarking: identifying the areas of strength and weakness based on a tried and tested /proven Asset Efficiency Optimization (AEO) Model.
Performance Management and cost reduction reviews
Operational Readiness and Assurance including Project to asset handover processes,
Integrated Activity and shutdown Planning,
Asset Reference Plans (ARP) and Maintenance (MRP) including Activity based OpEx Costing (ABC), and responsible for IHS OPE$T model development
Late life optimisation plans, Focused asset Integrity Reviews (FAIR) and collaborative working with Peers
