Professor Jose (Pepe) Regueiro
Dr. José (PEPE) Regueiro holds the degrees of B.Sc., M.Sc. And Ph.D, in Geophysics, from the Colorado School of Mines (78, 80 and 84).
He specialises in the areas of Seismic Methodologies applied to the petroleum industry and has over 30 years’ experience in the areas of seismic exploration and reservoir characterization.
He was a principal researcher at PDVSA INTEVEP, between 1984 - 1991, and head of the seismic reservoir characterization program.
From 1991 to 2006 he served as Full Professor in the Department of Geosciences at Simon Bolivar University, teaching several courses related to Seismic Methods Applied to oil and gas exploration and production as well as working on many industry-related projects. He also served as Department Chairman and Degree Coordinator.
He is currently retired, but still teaching due to his passion to pass on his knowledge to others.
Working as a technical consultant to various oil producing companies (PDVSA (Venezuela), PEMEX (Mexico) ENAP (Chile), Pacific-Stratus (Colombia), PETROPARS (Iran), PETROBRAS (VEN)., Repsol (VEN).
International instructor of courses related to the application of seismic technologies: Seismic Interpretation, AVO, Seismic Inversion, Reservoir Geophysics and Seismic Attributes.
Coordinator of Seismic training for PIAS (Proyectos Integrales de Adiestramiento PDVSA-CIED) as well as creator and supervisor for the Seisimic Interpretation Schools(PDVSA-CIED) (1996-2002).
He is currently President of Gociencias VIrtuales C.A.
