Professor David Newman

Professor David NewmanProfessor David Newman has in excess of 35 years national and international oil and gas project engineering and management experience in Europe, Scandinavia, Middle East, SE Asia, CIS (Kazakhstan), US and Mexico performing consultancy works with oil and gas operators, EPIC contractors, and Consultancy teams for onshore, offshore and subsea projects with project values ranging from $10's millions to excess of $billions.

David's specific expertise and interests lay within a number of related areas - onshore and subsea pipeline engineering design, construction, installation through to operations and decommissioning, materials and corrosion engineering. In addition, he has been an Asset Integrity Management practitioner in excess of 25 years planning and implementing asset integrity programmes for pipelines, structures and corrosion management. His current working interests lay within ageing assets and risk management (risk and reliability engineering).

David has an extremely keen interest in oil and gas education and training for students as well as professional engineers and managers, having contributed to academic teaching and supervision at UK universities as well as training and mentoring industry professionals to date both at home and overseas within multi-discipline and multi-cultural environments.

He has authored numerous papers relating to pipelines engineering, asset integrity management and materials/corrosion engineering as well as presented at national and international conferences and seminars with a number of these being as key note speaker and special invitations by various governments.
