Jeffrey Johnson
Jeffrey D. Johnson is an E&P Geophysical & Training Consultant who as a 15 year NExT/ Schlumberger staff member taught over 120 industry Geology & Geophysics training classes/ workshops worldwide and also helped client companies assess technical competencies of staff and plan effective G&G and multidiscipline training programs. He retired from Schlumberger in 2010 where for 10 years he was Geology & Geophysics Curriculum Director for its training segment NExT and for 5 more years worked as a nearly full time SLB/NExT training contractor.
Prior to joining SLB, Jeff was General Manager of Amoco's Worldwide Geoscience Research and Technical Services Organization from 1991 until his retirement from BP Amoco in late 2000. During his 24 years with Amoco, Jeff held management, leadership, and technical assignments in geophysical/ geoscience research, international exploration projects, and Gulf of Mexico E&P projects.
Jeffrey has degrees in geophysics from Stanford University and taught geophysics and seismology at Boston College prior to joining Amoco. His technology and business interests include E&P subsurface & technology integration processes, seismic depth imaging, project based training programs, competency assessment processes and seismic reservoir characterization. He is currently a consulting technical geophysicist working part time with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he lives.
